Summary
The lecturer presents the Akathist Hymn as an enduring work of Orthodox poetry whose 24 stanzas reward careful interpretation. He distinguishes the Magi who sought Christ from contemporary practitioners of sorcery and urges listeners to seek Christ in the Church. He points to mysteries in nature as grounds for wonder and concludes by inviting the faithful to praise God and sing Alleluia.

The Akathist Hymn, devout congregation, or, as it is more commonly called, the Salutations, this hymn, I say, as we have said before, is a masterpiece, a masterpiece of a poem, a product of the Byzantine poetry of our forebears.
For thirteen centuries now, this hymn has been sung in Orthodox churches wherever Orthodox Christians live. It fills us with wonder. The Parthenon is a masterpiece that has inspired wonder through the ages; how much more does the Akathist Hymn astonish anyone of sound mind!
Just as a building is made from stones that are first hewn and then fitted together to give it an architectural form, so too the poet builds here. People admire Greek buildings.
But spiritual buildings are greater than Greek buildings, and a poem is a spiritual building. Buildings can collapse, but spiritual buildings do not collapse. So this spiritual building, too, is like a building.
The Akathist Hymn, this spiritual building, has twenty-four floors, if you will. Each floor is a stanza, called an oikos. There are as many of them as there are letters in the Greek alphabet.
It begins with the letter Alpha: “An angel, the foremost…” Then it goes on, stanza by stanza, until it reaches the end.
Think of its twenty-four floors. Count the rooms: there are 144, and each room is a greeting, each greeting a “Rejoice.” Tonight, though, as I told you, I will not explain any of those 144 wonderful greetings. Instead, I will look at one greeting, this stanza, the one corresponding to the Greek letter theta and speaking of the Magi. What does it say about the Magi? Who are these Magi mentioned in the Gospel? They are not magicians in the modern sense, for today’s magicians exploit people.
Sorcery still exists. Only a little while ago I learned that, here in my own district, a poor woman went to a sorceress who took all her valuables. She took everything precious the woman had.
How gullible people can be! We have said so many times that sorcery is the work of demons. And it is found beyond Greece. They say there are three thousand sorcerers in Greece. They rob, steal, deceive, and lie. They do not know their own future, yet they claim to foretell the future.
America in particular is a land of delusion and sorcery. There, when people are bedridden and in danger, they do not call a priest; they have a sorcerer beside them, right beside them.
Terrible things. People have turned away from God and believe in magic. They believe in horoscopes and all sorts of things, but people today do not believe in Christ. They have gone far from Him and run here and there, trying to discover what lies ahead in their lives.
Yes, that is how it is. Sorcery is a sign of the times. Its spread is a sign of the times of the coming Antichrist: people put their faith in magic, which is the work of Satan.
But the Magi whom the Akathist Hymn speaks of today, and whom the Gospel first tells us about, were different from these sorcerers. They were learned men, the astronomers of their age.
Just as an astronomer today studies the stars in the sky through a telescope, so these men studied them with the animals they had. They did not sleep at night, all night long. There in the high mountains, they had this before them and watched the stars, a marvelous panorama that proves the existence of God.
As they watched, they suddenly saw a star of extraordinary splendor. Such a star was rare, and they were astonished. They opened the prophecies and the ancient books and understood that this star was a sign announcing the birth of the Redeemer of the world.
Then they decided to go and find the Redeemer. Where was He? They set out on a long journey to find Christ and come to Him. Here I could pause for a moment and weep, for the Magi walked two thousand kilometers to find Christ.
Yes, their country was that far away. We passed through, passed through. I have no time to tell you the story of the three Magi, or rather the four Magi. There are four in that story.
Thank you.
It was even presented on stage. The adventure of the four Magi is a wonderful work, and so on. I have no time to tell you about it, but what strikes me is that the Magi, guided by a single star, walked many kilometers, crossing mountains and valleys at a time when there were no means of transport.
Their camels were loaded, and they kept walking and walking. They had the star as their guide, as a shining lamp, as their guide. They traveled two thousand kilometers. Yet today, Christians have the Church right beside them and never set foot in it. The Church is right beside them, and they never set foot in it. The Church is right beside them, and they never set foot in it. Do not be surprised. You who are here are a small minority. Where are those who, on this day...? Where are they? Do not think that we are seeking...
No, as I have told you before, if even one person comes to the Church, that is enough for me. One person is worth more than thousands; you have seen this in the Gospel. So we say: Christ is here. Here in the Church is the Gospel, here is the Apostle reading, here are the hymns, here is the sermon, here are the Mysteries. Here is Christ.
These Magi walked two thousand kilometers to come and worship Christ. These Magi will judge us on that day. We have feet, and yet we have no feet. We have feet for the devil. For Christ, we have no feet.
Indeed. And once we enter the Church, we keep watching the time, wondering when we can leave. Well, that is how it is. But let us return to our subject. The Magi loaded their camels and their bags. In one they put gold, in another frankincense, and in another myrrh. At last they reached the cave and saw Christ wrapped in swaddling clothes, with the Most Holy Theotokos beside Him.
What does today’s stanza of the Akathist, the one beginning with the letter theta, say about them? It says that they arrived and ‘reached the Unreachable One.’ There is a contradiction here. Do you see it?
Those of you who know Greek will hear the contradiction. What is it? ‘They reached the Unreachable One.’
If He is unreachable, how did we reach Him?
How did they reach One who is unreachable? How can this be explained? How do you interpret it? They reached Him, how are we to reach Him? You walk and walk, and you reach your destination. You walk for kilometers; you reach the North Pole, you reach all the way down to the South Pole, you can get anywhere. You travel and travel, and at last you reach your destination. Here it says they reached Him, they reached the Unreachable One. How do we explain this? What interpretation can we give? What do our theologians say? What do the preachers say? What do learned people say?
However far you travel, you cannot reach Him. When we were little children, we looked at the sky and imagined that if we climbed a mountain, we could touch the stars. Our mother would laugh.
You can go from mountain to mountain, climb the highest peak, go to the Alps or the Himalayas, even travel in a spacecraft. Still, no one can touch the heavens. Spacecraft have taken only a few small steps into the infinite.
So why does the Akathist Hymn say that they reached the Unreachable One? The explanation is brief; I do not want to tire you. It is this: the unreachable Christ has two natures. He is a man, but He is not only a man. He is also God.
God is unreachable. You cannot touch Him. He is invisible and beyond our reach. Yet the unreachable God came down, like an eagle flying high, so high that you cannot reach it.
No other bird flies as high as the eagle. It flies so high that it looks like a speck, a tiny point in the sky. Yet from that height, the eagle’s keen eyes make out something on the plain below. It swoops down, and you see it land on a rock.
The unreachable one has touched the earth. The unreachable eagle is an image. If you read the Apocalypse, and you should read the Apocalypse, because what it describes is happening in our own age, and all that it foretells will come to pass, you will see. Instead of reading newspapers, instead of listening to the radio, instead of watching television, open the Gospels and open the Apocalypse, and there you will find the great Mysteries of God.
So the Unreachable One came down from heaven, from above the galaxies, and drew near to the earth. When He became man, we could approach Him. Many people did approach Him: they saw Him and spoke with Him.
The Unreachable One became approachable. But let us stay with those words, ‘they reached the Unreachable One,’ and look at them another way. Even as a man, Christ is beyond our reach in virtue. Listen closely to what I mean.
We should not simply listen and say, ‘Ah, they’re singing. It’s all Chinese to us in here.’ All these things have great significance: psychological, philosophical, and social significance. But I go into the Church, we hear a psalm, and it is all Chinese to us here; we understand nothing.
That is why there must be a sermon: to explain these things and make them plain, so that even someone with no schooling can understand. God is unsurpassed, God, Christ, not only as God, but also from the human point of view, in virtue.
Christ is unsurpassed in virtue. He is our model. Let me explain more clearly. Many distinguished people have walked this earth, and some have risen to great heights through their virtues. We do not deny it.
One was called righteous because he lived righteously. Another was called self-controlled because he was self-controlled. Another was called pure because he was pure. Another was called a virgin because he lived a virginal life.
Another is called merciful because he showed mercy. Another is called Chrysostom, ‘Golden-Mouthed,’ because his words were like gold. There are many such names. Yet however high these people rose, beside the moral heights of Christ they are small and insignificant.
There is only one who is perfect: Christ. Let me add one last thought, for this subject is endless and I do not want to tire you with philosophical and theological matters. Since you are here in the Church, I want to tell you this: the human person was made with a thirst for perfection.
A person thirsts for perfection. In what? In everything. A painter finishes a painting but is not satisfied. However skilled he may be, he sees that the picture is still imperfect.
A sculptor makes a beautiful statue but is not satisfied; he wishes he had made it more perfect. A poet writes a beautiful song and is not satisfied. A man marries, expecting a perfect wife. He does not find one, and he gets divorced.
Perfect, he thinks. She is beautiful, majestic, beautiful, what fault could she have? Why, she is an angel. He draws closer, closer, closer, and says, “No”, then come divorce and disappointment. This earth is a source of disappointments. A friend approaches you; you consider him a friend, and little by little you see that he becomes a traitor, becomes a traitor: he betrays you, persecutes you, and so on. Imperfection, there is great imperfection in the world.
There are various political and philosophical systems, and all have shortcomings, whether capitalism, socialism, or anything else. Human affairs are marked by imperfection. Only one is completely perfect: Jesus Christ.
His virtue rises above the Alps and the Himalayas; it reaches the stars. As the hymn says, “Your virtue has covered the heavens, O Christ.” He is the eternal model, the eternal model. I accuse no one, nor do I belong to Alpha. You know very well that in the twenty-three years I have been here, I have belonged to no party.
I belong to no one. I belong to my homeland and, above all, to Christ. I mention examples to make my point, not to steer you toward a party. Lenin was highly esteemed. I do not deny that he was a remarkable and influential man. I have read his work.
Others go on talking. They took this man as their model and said, ‘We have Lenin; we do not need Christ.’ What is Christ to them? It is as though fools took a saw to the Himalayas or the Alps, trying to cut them down to their own size, and then made statues of their chosen hero.
And down there in Bucharest they made a statue of him, weighing I do not know how many tons, of bronze, of bronze, a very tall bronze statue, like that one over there. Then things changed. The people rose up and saw that they had not found Paradise, but had found Hell.
They understood what had happened, and now they are trying to tear it down. What will they do with it? What lessons history teaches us! So what did they do? The man they once wanted to raise beyond everyone’s reach they now regard as small and insignificant. They will transform the copper, the bronze, the bronze weighing eight tons, into bells. Bells!
But You, Christ our God, are eternal. They mocked You, ridiculed You, crucified You, and humiliated You. ‘What is Christ?’ they say. ‘Enough with the fairy tales, enough, priest.’ As I traveled all over Greece, I heard people say to priests, ‘We want nothing to do with Christ or any of that.’ He has despised Christ since childhood; that is how he is.
You see, my dear friends, how much meaning and how many lessons a single word in the Akathist Hymn contains. We could go on, but I will stop here. The lesson is this: modern man, however far you have advanced in art, science, your profession, power, wealth, intelligence, or skill, whatever your achievements may be,
however far you advance, never give way to pride. Never. Remain humble. What are you? A zero, a worm, a piece of straw, a grain of sand. Christ is the one beyond our reach.
And He tells us, ‘Become perfect.’ We draw nearer to perfection, however far we still have to go. I urge you to read. I am an old man, yet I read for two hours every day.
Our books are a treasure, a wealth of learning, yet so little of it has been translated into other languages. I do not blame any one person. I blame the system that educates the Greek people. We have gifted people and bright children, yet look what happens.
The other day, after we took food to Bucharest, I received something that brought tears to my eyes. Children from a Greek school, from a seminary, sent us a letter in ancient Greek. Flawless! Flawless! Not a single mistake!
Try asking children to do that now and see. Dreadful. Dreadful. The children aren't to blame; it's the system. A minister even said, “Today we will bury the Greek language.” What can you say to him? He was a Mason. This is how far things have fallen. And so today we go to Church and understand nothing.
Let us return, then, to the lesson: however wise you may be, keep a humble spirit, like the Apostle Paul. For one man reached heaven, a human being reached heaven. Who was it? The Apostle Paul. God counted him worthy to reach the third heaven and hear things no human being may speak. Yet though Christ honored him so greatly that he reached even the galaxies, what does the Apostle Paul say?
He says that he considered himself very small and insignificant, and he proclaimed and said that Christ, the One beyond our reach, came into the world.
Christ came into the world, my dear Christians. Let us all draw near in spirit to the One who cannot be reached. Let us follow His example, praise Him, and draw near to the greatness of our Christ. Going from strength to strength and from virtue to virtue, let us draw near and praise God. And like the Magi, who reached the One beyond their reach, let us sing to Him: Alleluia.
My dear friends, last Friday, when the second section of the Akathist Hymn was sung in all the churches of our Orthodox Church,
The Akathist Hymn is like a building. It is no material building like our houses, mansions, palaces, the Parthenon, or Hagia Sophia. It is a spiritual building. Material buildings wear away with time, and earthquakes reduce them to ruins. But the Akathist Hymn has endured for thirteen centuries. It remains an immortal monument of our Greek people and our holy faith. And just as a building is made of stones, this spiritual building has its own wonderful, exceptional architecture: it uses words in place of stones.
I told you that this spiritual building has twenty-four stories, one for each letter of the Greek alphabet. They are called stanzas, beginning with ‘An angel stood foremost’ and continuing to the end. And this whole spiritual building, as we said, contains 144 greetings, that is, the greeting ‘Rejoice,’ which is repeated continually, a repetition of the first ‘Rejoice.’
In our previous talk, we spoke about the Magi and the stanza beginning with the letter theta: ‘The Magi, seeing the star that led them to God, reached the One beyond their reach, crying Alleluia.’ We spoke about the Magi then. Today I want to say a few words about another stanza, the one beginning with the letter rho.
“We see eloquent orators struck dumb as fish before you, O Theotokos. For they cannot explain how you remain a virgin and yet were able to give birth. But we, marveling at the wonder, marveling at the Mystery, cry out: Alleluia.” What do these words mean? What do they mean? It matters. For here the poet, here, he says, is speaking about orators. Orators. There were many orators.
The ancient world had great orators, such as Cicero and Demosthenes. We have orators today as well, especially politicians speaking on the radio, on television, and from balconies. At this time in particular, the Greek people will hear more than enough political speeches.
I am not condemning them; I am describing them. There were orators in those days who tried to make black seem white and white seem black. They used a great many words to obscure the truth.
Yet they could not explain this Mystery. What Mystery? How can virginity and motherhood come together? By nature, the two seem incompatible. Where there is virginity, there is no motherhood; where there is motherhood, there is no virginity.
So these two seemingly incompatible things came together in the Virgin. How? They could not explain the Mystery, and they fell silent, like fish, for fish do not speak. That is why we say of someone who never speaks, whose mouth is always closed, that he is quieter than a fish. The hymn says that before this Mystery, even eloquent speakers fell silent, quieter than fish. That is what it says. Yet the question is still heard through the ages.
Through the centuries, and still today, people discuss this in books, everywhere, and so on, and say to you, “Come now, forget the priests. Aren’t these things unbelievable? Is it really possible for a virgin to give birth? And can a mother be a virgin?”
Leave that aside. They want to explain these incomprehensible things and set them against our holy faith. What shall we answer? Please, listen carefully.
This is an important subject, not a simple one. I will try to lift your thoughts to higher things, so that you may marvel at the greatness of our faith. What shall we answer? This question arises in my own heart and in the hearts of other Christians. The devil comes and says to you, “What are these things the Church teaches?” There is much we could say about the natural world. We could speak for more than an hour, but for the sake of time I will give just a few examples.
As I have said before, the world includes what we can see and what we cannot see, the natural and the supernatural. Our holy faith speaks of the supernatural and its mysteries. But is it only our faith, only our Church, that speaks of unseen things, such as the soul, angels, demons, and God?
Is ours the only one? No. An investigation, a relevant investigation, will show that mystery exists not only in the supernatural world but also in the natural world. Would you like examples? Four or five examples, some of which I may have mentioned before. I also spoke of them to the children yesterday at an advanced catechism school, where I teach a form of apologetics. I will briefly repeat some of these things here to answer those who ask how the mysteries can be solved.
First, there is the sun. What a great mystery! You see it shining. Some say it has shone for thousands of years, others for millions. How does it keep shining? Let science answer that.
A lamp goes out when its oil is gone. A lantern goes out when its fuel runs out. A candle goes out too. A poor man lights a fire in his home at night, but unless he keeps feeding it wood, it dies down.
What keeps the sun burning? Gasoline? Oil? Wood? Recently, a theory was put forward claiming that scientists had solved it, but they too were immediately ridiculed for claiming that continual explosions take place within the sun’s crust, deep inside the sun.
They say these come from nuclear energy. But how does it happen? Or take electricity: how does it work? They give no answer about how electricity works. Electricity and magnetism, how do they work? Would you like another example? Attraction. Physicists and astronomers tell children that an invisible thread joins millions of stars, billions of them, countless stars.
How does that attraction work? What does science do? As philosophers say, science describes; it does not explain. It describes a phenomenon in great detail, one part after another. But when we ask how, as the Akathist Hymn asks today, the question remains. Even the physicists, with all their words, are left as speechless as fish.
Would you like a few more examples? I remember traveling through Euboea once. On the road I met an agronomist who had studied at universities in Berlin. He was proud and would not bring himself to say the word “God.”
God, yet all he kept saying was “nature, nature, nature.” They have erased God from the pages of books and say, “Nature”, no, “nature, nature, nature.” They do not even want to say the word “God”; they are ashamed to say it. Nature is something vague that does not convey reality.
Yes, even teachers of the natural sciences speak this way. Yet great physicists and mathematicians, scholars worthy of respect, bow before the majesty of our faith and speak of God.
As we talked along the road, he said to me, “I don’t accept any of it.” So I gave him an example from John Chrysostom, one I often use in my lessons and will repeat here tonight.
He says, “Look at the soil. Soil is soil. Yet all kinds of trees grow in it: a lemon tree, an orange tree, an olive tree, a grapevine, a peach tree, and many other plants.”
They all put down roots in the same soil, mind you, and their roots draw up water.
John Chrysostom asks: how does the water become oil in the olive tree? You cannot explain it. My God, what mysteries there are in this world! The olive tree draws up water and produces oil. The grapevine draws it up and produces grapes for wine. The lemon tree produces lemons; the orange tree produces oranges. From the same soil and water comes such a variety of fruits.
A plant draws up water, and a potato grows. I do not mean to criticize the scientists; they have their reasons. But they cannot explain it all. Think about it: how does that potato grow? It draws up water and produces a potato. Go on, explain that.
Then make a potato yourself. Make a root that produces all these different things. These questions remain unanswered. Or let us turn from plants and trees: how does a tiny seed become an enormous tree?
If you cannot explain how, then consider another question of how. Look at the birds, the birds. Do you see the swallows? They fly, fly, fly, fly and return to the same place, the very same place. People have tied rings, put rings on the birds’ legs, and they see them the following year. The same birds return; they return to the same place.
Which flying school did they attend? Tell me, which flying school?
Go on, try to explain that. I wonder about it. Even pilots lose their bearings. Just the other day, a young man of twenty-five lost his bearings over Mytilene, struck a rock, and was killed. Did these birds study how to fly, these migratory birds, over enormous distances and make their way here across the earth, and so on? How do they do this, and how do they do that? Would you like another example? Let us move on from these things.
Come on! Does the ant have a radio? Did you know the ant has a radio? Its two antennae are a radio. A radio, they are. Go on, explain that now. Would you like another example? How does a bee fly, take the flower, and turn it into honey?
Come on, try it: make a flower yourself. You, the factory owner, the scientist, the great and exalted one, take the flower, the flower, and turn it into honey, turn it into honey. Let us leave the birds, leave everything else, and come to the human being. The human being alone is enough.
How do you see? An eye doctor can describe the eye, but cannot fully explain how it sees. One can describe the ear, but how does hearing happen inside it? One can describe the stomach digesting food, the intestines, every part of the body, down to the cells.
As scientists say, the cells are like an enormous factory: millions of cells. Just as this church is built of countless stones, so the body is built of cells, one upon another. Astonishing things! How does it happen? These are mysteries. How does water become blood? We still cannot make blood. When someone needs a transfusion, we cry out, “I need blood!” How does blood become milk in a mother’s breast? How does it become nerves, flesh, or a brain?
And the brain, how does it work? Speak, if you can; even the eloquent fall silent. Do you see, then, the value of the Akathist Hymn? It points us toward such great wonders. What am I saying? Gregory the Theologian, a great philosopher, put a hundred questions to unbelievers that they could not answer.
You may say that science has advanced since then. Yet scientists still stand amazed. In our own age, we have discovered something extraordinary: a little piece of matter can contain tremendous power, nuclear energy. How did God place such power within it? That is how God ordained it.
So the answer came: what is impossible with human beings is possible with God. Do you believe it? Do you believe it? What is impossible with human beings is possible with God, and He has given us these things. God, then, who made all these beautiful, wonderful, mysterious things; God who placed within matter, within matter, tremendous powers, great powers.
God made a seed grow into an enormous tree. God made birds fly and return to their nests. God made these countless great and wondrous things. And this same God willed that the Virgin should give birth.
Explain the other things, explain the other things, O unbeliever and atheist. Explain all the other mysteries, and then have the audacity to ask me to tell you how the Virgin gave birth, how the Virgin bore a child. Glory to the Holy Trinity! Glory to God from the depths of our hearts!
Let us, too, sing this hymn of the Most Holy Theotokos. And while the unbelievers do not believe, let us marvel at God throughout nature, in all His greatness, in all His works, in God’s countless works. Let us marvel at the mystery spread throughout the whole world and say, ‘Glory to the Holy Trinity!’ And let us, too, say ‘Alleluia’ with all our hearts; let us sing ‘Alleluia,’ continually, ‘Alleluia.’

Γι' αυτούς λοιπόν, λέει σήμερα ο Χαιρετισμός, ο οίκος αυτός, το γράμμα θήτα, τι λέει; Ότι αυτοί είδανε, φτάσανε και έφθασανε και έφθασανε στον άφθαστο. Εδώ παρατηρείται μια αντίφαση. Την καταλαβαίνετε ποια είναι η αντίφαση;
Για έναν άφθαστο πώς τον φτάσανε; Πώς εξηγείται αυτό; Πώς το ερμηνεύετε εσείς; Έφτασαν, να φτάσουμε, βαδίζεις, βαδίζεις, φτάνεις στον προορισμό σου. Βαδίζεις χιλιόμετρα, φτάνεις, φτάνεις μέχρι τον Βόρειο Πόλο, φτάνεις μέχρι κάτω τον Νότιο Πόλο, φτάνεις παντού, ταξιδεύεις, ταξιδεύεις, επιτέλους φτάνεις στον προορισμό σου. Εδώ λέει έφτασαν, έφτασαν τον άφθαστο. Πώς το εξηγήσουμε αυτό; Ποια ερμηνεία θα δώσουμε; Τι λένε οι θεολόγοι μας; Τι λένε οι ιεροκήρυκες; Τι λένε οι μορφωμένοι;
Συνεπώς λοιπόν, επανέλθουμε στο δίδαγμα. Οσονδήποτε σοφός και να είσαι και αυτός, να είσαι ταπεινό φρόνημα, σαν το φρόνημα που είχε ο Απόστολος Παύλος. Γιατί ένας έφτασε στον ουρανό, ένας άνθρωπος έφτασε στον ουρανό. Ποιος είναι αυτός; Ο Απόστολος Παύλος. Τον αξίωσε ο Θεός να φτάσει μέχρι τρίτου ουρανού και να ακούσει πράγματα α ουκ εξόν ανθρώπω λαλήσαι. Και αυτός όμως τόσο που λοιπόν τον ετοίμησε ο Χριστός, ώστε να φτάσει μέχρι γαλαξιών, μέχρι το οποίο ο Απόστολος Παύλος τι λέει;
Ο κόσμος, όπως είπα και άλλοτε, είναι ορατός και αόρατος, είναι φυσικός και υπερφυσικός. Ο υπερφυσικός κόσμος είναι η θρησκεία μας, η Αγία Θρησκεία μας, τα μυστήρια της θρησκείας μας. Αλλά άραγε μόνο η θρησκεία μας, μόνο η Εκκλησία μας έχει αόρατα πράγματα, όπως είναι η ψυχή, οι άγγελοι, οι δαίμονες, ο Θεός κλπ.;
Φτιάξε πατάτα λοιπόν εσύ, φτιάξε μια ρίζα από όλα αυτά τα ποικίλα πράγματα και λοιπά τα οποία γίνονται. Αναπάντητα είναι τα ερωτήματα. Θες να φύγουμε από τα φύλλα, από τα δέντρα; Πώς ένας σπόρος μικρός γίνεται ένα πελώριο δέντρο;
Σε ποια σχολή αεροπορίας εφοίτησαν; Σε ποια σχολή αεροπορίας εφοίτησαν;
Όπως λένε οι επιστήμονες, ένα τεράστιο εργοστάσιο είναι τα κύτταρα, εκατομμύρια κύτταρα. Όπως εδώ ο ναός αποτελείται από εκατομμύρια λίθους, έτσι και αυτός αποτελείται, το ένα πάνω στον άλλο, τα κύτταρα. Φοβερά πράγματα. Πώς; Μυστήρια. Πώς το νερό γίνεται αίμα; Μέχρι στιγμής δεν μπορούσαν να κάνουν αίμα, ούτε θα προσπαθήσουν να το κάνουν αίμα. Μετάγγιση αίματος, φωνάζω «θέλω αίμα». Πώς το αίμα στο μαστό της μάνας γίνεται γάλα; Πώς γίνεται νεύρα; Πώς γίνεται σάρκα; Πώς γίνεται εγκέφαλος;
